Amana error code: LOC or LC

These two error codes mean the control lock function has been activated. Although you can open the lid or door, the washer won’t be able to start until you deactivate the control lock function.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Locate the control lock button.
  • Once located, press and hold the control lock button until it unlocks.
  • Check if the washer can now be turned back on to a cycle. If not, try resetting your washer by turning it off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again. You can then press the power button and attempt to turn your washer on to a cycle.

Amana error code: dET

This error code indicates there isn’t a detergent cartridge in the detergent dispenser or the drawer isn’t closed correctly.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Start by making sure there is a detergent cartridge in the dispenser drawer.
  • Next, ensure the drawer is closed correctly.
  • You can then check if the error code has stopped showing. If not, try resetting your washer by turning it off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again. Once the power is turned on, check if the error code has stopped showing.

Amana error code: Int

This error code shows on the display screen when the cycle has been paused or canceled. It’s normal for this code to appear while your Amana washer is in drain mode. However, if it still shows after the drain part of the cycle has ended, you will need to take action.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Start by pressing the pause/cancel button twice, followed by the power button once.
  • Check if the code has stopped showing. If not, try resetting your washer by turning it off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again.

Amana error code: rL or F34

These codes show on the display screen if the washer detects laundry items in the washer drum during a cleaning cycle. To resume the cleaning cycle, you must remove whatever is in the drum.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Open the washer door/lid and remove any laundry items.
  • Attempt to restart the cleaning cycle. If it won’t restart, reset your washer by turning it off for 2 minutes before turning it back on. You can then press the power button and attempt to turn your washer on to a new cleaning cycle.

Amana error code: Sud or Sd

These codes mean there is an excessive amount of suds in the washer. This is often caused by using a non-high-efficiency detergent (HED). The error code will usually resolve itself once the suds evaporate, but in some cases, you may need to remove some suds manually.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • If the error code doesn’t resolve itself, open the washer lid and remove some suds. Alternatively, add water to help dissolve the suds.
  • Attempt to restart the wash cycle. If it won’t restart, turn your washer off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again. This should reset your washer.

Amana error code: F5 E2

This error code shows when the washer door fails to lock. Your washing machine won’t be able to start until the issue is resolved.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Start by ensuring the door is closed correctly. If anything is obstructing the door, remove it.
  • Next, press the pause button twice and the power button once to restart your washer. If that doesn’t work, turn your washer off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again. This should reset your washer.
  • If the washer still won’t start, a technician will need to inspect the door lock.

Amana error code: F7 E1

This error code shows when the motor can’t spin the washer drum fast enough.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Start by making sure the washer isn’t overloaded. If so, remove some items to balance the load.
  • Attempt to restart the wash cycle by pressing the pause button twice and the power button once. If it won’t restart, turn your washer off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again. This should reset your washer.

Amana error codes: F8 E1 or LO FL

These codes show when the flow of water is too low. To get your Amana washer working again, you will need to fix the underlying cause of the problem.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Start by ensuring the water faucets are turned on.
  • Ensure the water hoses aren’t damaged. If damaged, they will need to be repaired or replaced.
  • Next, reset your washer by turning it off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again. You can then set your washer to a new cycle and turn it on.

Amana error code: F8 E2

This error code indicates a dispenser system error. This is usually a straightforward error code to fix.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Ensure the detergent drawer is closed correctly.
  • Next, check the drawer for any signs of detergent residue. If dirty, clean the drawer. You can then attempt to restart the cycle.
  • If the washer won’t restart, turn your machine off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again. This should reset your washer.

Amana error code: F9 E1

Your washer should take about eight minutes to drain. When it takes longer than that, the F9 E1 error code will show on the display screen.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Ensure the drain hose isn’t blocked or kinked. If so, repair or replace it.
  • Once you have checked and, if necessary, repaired the hose, attempt to restart the washer.
  • If it won’t restart, turn your washer off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again. This should reset your washer.

Amana error code: Other F# E#

The meaning of this error code is “other error.” It means the system has picked up an error but doesn’t have a specific code.

Here’s how to clear it:

  • Reset your Amaan washer. You can do this by turning it off for 2 minutes before turning it back on again.
  • Once the power is back on, check if the error code has stopped showing.
  • If the code is still showing, you will need to get a technician to come and inspect your washing machine.
